I received this note from Animals Asia this morning and felt it was a great announcement to put here as well. I am a Teddybear collector from WAY back and there are some PRIMO artisan and collector bears on this list to bid on for yourself or give as a gift. Our wonderful friends at Abracadabra Teddy Bears in Saffron Waldon, Essex are once again running a BIG END OF YEAR ONLINE TEDDY BEAR AUCTION to help raise further funds for our rescued bears in China and Vietnam.
Abracadabra Teddy Bears has already raised a phenomenal £29,722 for the bears via auctions over the past five years and this end-of-year auction is one of the biggest yet with over 70 bears and teddies on offer. There really is something for everybody.
All of the bears have been kindly donated by collectors and artists wanting to make a difference in the lives of the moon bears incarcerated in cages across China and Vietnam.
The online auction will ran from 9 pm on Sunday 11 January (UK time).
Please bid generously and remember that every donation, no matter how big or small, will help to end the barbaric practice of bear farming.

My huge apologies for the absence of blog posts this past week. My son and his new fiance came to town for a visit and then I got incredibly sick the past few days and just now have a bit of energy to catch up on posting. OMG, there is so much news and I’ll start for now with this as it is time sensitive. Tomorrow I’ll update about our moonbear I promise!!
Chinese New Year is fast approaching on January 26, 2008. One of the many wonderful traditions during this festive season is the giving of red envelopes or Hong Bao, filled with money or bills.
The recipient, as well as the giver of the envelope, is said to receive good luck for the coming year.
Please feel free to download the original size version and print and give these envelopes to your heart’s content. If you have a few dollars extra to spread around, the Moonbears at AAF would love a red envelope as well. I will be collecting the Red Envelopes through Pandarazzi and forwarding them to AAF ON FEBRUARY 14…VALENTINES DAY 2009. My goal is $600.00 so we can sponsor another moonbear to help with its expenses.

Extending our Deadline to sponsor blind moonbear
I have some jewelry incentives in place for recruitments and donations of over 50.00 to our blind Moonbear. Those who already donated 50.00 will receive their special jewelry gift as soon as our $600.00 goal is reached. Facebook members who recruited (get their FB friends to join the CAUSE) 20 or more members received a 20% off coupon for anything on my jewelry website during this promotion!!!!
Our total in the fund is at 450.00 (thanks to new donators) of the 600.00 we need to sponsor our blind moonbear. Alice Ng at Animals Asia will be sending us photos and a background story about the moonbear I chose for us to sponsor very soon.
I had thought if we didn’t get to our total by tomorrow ( our original deadline) I could chip in the balance but I think the best thing to do would be to extend the deadline to my birthday on May 12.

The money I am fundraising for the one blind moonbear helps keep the general funds rolling into the rescue efforts. By giving our sponsored moonbear food, medical care, and upkeep money…..the staff can go about saving more of these gentle little bears from a tragic life of suffering in cages too small for their bodies.
