I am sure you all have heard about “Social Networking” and “Micro-Blogging” recently…many of you may wonder what the heck the hoopla is all about like I did. Curiosity got the best of me when I signed up for TWITTER about 6 months ago and just this week finally put it to the test.
Immediately to your left on the blog homepage, you will see the new Twitter widget I put on the Pandarazzi blog. You will always be able to find it in the left hand column of the blog on any of the pages you are visiting
Instead of sending out blog posts about every little thing we find of interest to the PANDARAZZI audience, Elise and I are posting many of the trivia items and PANDARAZZI brainstorming on the microblog at TWITTER. There is a little scroll bar on the right of Twitter widget rectangle to see all our recent TWITTER posts
CLICK ON ANY OF THE TWITTER POST TOPICS TO BRING YOU TO THE CORRESPONDING LINK
CLICKING ON THE PANDA IN THE TWITTER WIDGET BOX SENDS YOU TO MY TWITTER PROFILE
Sometimes the link is a photo or a website we would love for you to see or maybe just a post about a good ethnic restaurant we went to. They are very short posts…under 120 characters. Kind of like a communication appetizer! I can even Twitter pix from my iPhone on my travels which means REAL TIME updates and images of your panda cubs and moonbears!!
This helps us share much more information on the blog without having to post on PANDARAZZI more than once a day. Checking the TWITTER widget in the sidebar each time you visit will provide a wealth of info. There are times that Elise and I will post to TWITTER 20 times or more a day depending on the info I have. Right now I’m putting all the MISSION MOONBEAR sponsors up …..I’m still adding names but yours will be up soon.

WHEN ELISE ISN’T NAPPING WITH TAI..SHE IS COMPLETELY IMMERSED IN SUPPORTING IMPORTANT ANIMAL CAUSES!
My gosh Pandarazzi’s readership has simply skyrocketed since I made the shift from that difficult forum format to this easy to use blog to use for communication. Thank you all for bear-ing with me during the transition but growing pains and improvements always mean we are moving forward …which is an outstanding thing!!!
As part of this growing process, I have added 2 regular contributors to the blog and will invite guest authors to post as well. I am introducing them in no particular order. I just happen to have the pix ready to post of one of them, so today you all get to meet a wonderful friend and panda lover from the Washington DC area, Elise.
I met Elise via the Flickr group “Pandas Unlimited” and recently got to meet her in person when I traveled to the Smithsonian Zoo in DC for TaiShan’s 3rd birthday
ME GIVING MY TALK AT THE DC ZOO
Elise and I had all of maybe 10 minutes to chat in DC but have been emailing back and forth ever since. When I brought up the plight of the moonbears on the Pandas Unlimited list….Elise jumped on the bandwagon with guns a blazing…… and has been actively championing the little bears through petition signing, writing letters, and donating to Animals Asia and other anti bile farming organizations ever since.
The panda loves of her life are Tai Shan and the Tian panda family at the National Zoo. Elise is so lucky to be able to visit them in person and take these wonderful images you see here!! You can visit Elise’s photostream by clicking any of her Tai images
Elises’ alias on PANDARAZZI is “Bear it All” , so when you see her name in the comments and as the author of posts, you will know she took precious time away from hanging out with Tai in the hammock, drinking BEAR-Y coolers, to author our blog posts or help me organize the exciting fundraisers we have coming up for PROJECT PANDA! Elise is a MISSION MOONBEAR quilt square contributor.
THANK YOU ELISE FOR ALL YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO ANIMAL WELFARE AND PROTECTION AND PRESERVATION OF ENDANGERED SPECIES. YOUR HEART IS AS BIG AS THE UNIVERSE!

As long as I was on a roll with the Elephant book, I decided it was time I finish my panda book as well. I plan to take a leather cover copy of this to give to the Panda Base when I return next year as a gift. I still have some proofing to do as well as insert a few of my more recent Project Panda jewelry designs…but for the most part, it is ready to publish.
What a job……my bottom is permanently molded to my computer chair but this is one of those projects that got put on the back burner until I could get my new computer. The old one was just too slow and frustrating to do graphics etc with.
There will eventually be a book/slideshow on each of the 4 headers in CAPS under RECENT PROJECTS in the sidebar to the left.
CLICK THE PHOTO OF THE PANDA TO BRING THE SHOW-UP NICE AND LARGE..CLICKING ON ANY IMAGE AGAIN WILL GIVE YOU SINGLE PAGES INSTEAD OF THE DOUBLE LAYOUT
